Get to know me

My journalism journey started in 8th grade, when I started working on the small school newspaper. By the end of my senior year, I had served as its editor-in-chief for three years.

Even then, I didn't fully appreciate the value of producing journalism until I started at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. I was enthralled by the promise of the news industry and excited to find my place in it.

 

In my second semester, I joined The State Press, the independent, student-run University newspaper. As a politics reporter, I covered topics from student perspectives on climate policy to administrative intervention in student government and visa revocations. Since then, I have worked as a politics desk editor, editing stories and managing a team of reporters.

Currently, I serve as a managing editor for The State Press. I have also been the Cronkite News fellow at Small Wars Journal, where I reported on national security, and an intern at PolitiFact.

I am earning bachelor's degrees in both journalism and political science, giving me expertise in both fields that I can bring to my reporting.​

My goal is to work as an investigative reporter on defense and the military, uncovering the truth and holding the powerful accountable.

Outside of work, I like to read (Virginia Woolf has been the latest obsession), collect stuffed chickens and organize an ever-growing assortment of neckties.
